About Me

I love Music, all kinds of music. I believe people underestimate the importance of music and the contribution artists and musicians have made to this world. I believe artistry is a gift and a responsibility and those blessed with musical abilities should realise this is no small gift.

I’ve been a part of the music industry for 20 years plus and have worked in various  areas of the industry as a writer (Chrysalis Music) as a recording artist (Warner Brothers) all the way to being an artist manager, producer and studio owner. I have amassed an incredible amount of knowledge and experience and I believe it is my calling to share this knowledge with you.

In my time working in the music industry I have worked with or  been involved with many of the top artists in the UK and the rest of the music world including Destiny’s Child, Beverley Knight, Robert Palmer, Rod Stewart, Loose Ends, Mica Paris R Kelly and more, in  various capacities from backing vocals, vocal arrangements all the way to production and remixing.

I guess my most significant period to date was when I was signed to Warner Bros as a part of a four piece vocal band called Peace by Piece. Along with the rest of the band I experienced a number of memorable moments and received recognition by winning a MOBO Award for our single “Sweet Sister”. We built a reputation for our smooth sounding vocal arrangements which led me to be called upon by many individuals to arrange and vocal produce for various artists.

After Peace by Piece had disbanded I continued to produce for artists in the UK and as far afield a Japan, the natural progression from this was to open a recording studio & production company, which I did with a couple of colleagues. Whilst developing this company I found more and more of my clients were looking for advice on how to get ahead in the music industry, not the complex strategies but just the basic things that they needed to think about when putting their package together.

Since that time I have begun a quest to provide information to those who need it. I have written an accredited course on the music business and delivered courses and workshops on music business practice  and artist development.

There are enough people telling you how to sing, but not enough showing you how to make a living from your singing“.

I was also fortunate to head the music agency Croydon Music which was the music business support agency for one of Londons largest boroughs. In this position I advised and hosted various events within the borough, with specialist industry guests invited to speak to attendees who would never be able to afford a session with such professionals.

I am passionate about revealing the truth about success in the business, which doesn’t start with the big boys it starts with the artists and the sooner they realise the better off they will be. To develop themselves properly and learn about their industry they will be able to attract the right deals or success and do this with a spirit of independence and strength.

Major companies do not create stars, they just expose them!
